Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments according to OSHA standards
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and equipment
- Count and account for all surgical sponges, needles, and instruments
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced surgical equipment (provided)
- Ensure proper sterilization and processing of surgical instruments
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory and restock operating rooms efficiently
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience
- BLS/CPR certification maintained
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to operate surgical equipment (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
