Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange surgical instruments before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure compliance with OSHA and AORN standards
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgeries to prevent retention
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them for procedures
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and sterilization processes
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in a hospital or ASC setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and aseptic technique
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment for multiple specialties
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with surgical teams
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
