Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count surgical supplies and instruments before/after operations
- Transport patients and specimens safely between departments
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and order replacements
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA standards
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in orthopedic/general surgery
- BLS/CPR certification and current Oregon license
- Proven knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Experience with electronic documentation systems
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed
