Our facility performs over 3,000 surgical procedures annually across specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general surgery. We're seeking dedicated professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and share our commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields in operating rooms, ensuring all equipment meets sterilization standards
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Count and document all surgical instruments and sponges before, during, and after procedures
- Coordinate with sterile processing to ensure adequate supply of surgical equipment
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide intraoperative support as directed
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA regulations
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in acute care setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing principles and surgical instrumentation
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work on-call and weekends as needed
