Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance companies using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Review and resolve claim denials through appeals and documentation verification
- Manage patient billing accounts, payment plans, and insurance verification processes
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and private payer regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure complete documentation and coding accuracy
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and denial trends
- Train staff on billing updates and process improvements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of medical coding systems and billing software (Epic/Cerner preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with electronic claim submission and EDI processes
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for patient and insurance company interactions
