Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Monitor patient conditions throughout the shift and promptly report any changes or abnormalities to the charge nurse.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families to enhance their overall experience.
- Prepare and serve meals, adhering strictly to all dietary restrictions and nutritional plans.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized patient environment to prevent infection and ensure safety.
- Assist with moving and transferring patients using proper body mechanics and mechanical lift equipment.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required by the state of Colorado.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
