Responsibilities
- Provide basic bedside care to patients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance.
- Monitor patient health status, reporting changes or abnormalities to the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Assist with mobility issues, including transferring patients to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Prepare and serve meals according to patient dietary requirements and preferences.
- Accurately document patient care activities, vital signs, and changes in condition in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients.
Qualifications
- Current New York State CNA Certification (required).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients as needed (up to 50 lbs).
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (optional for home care, but often preferred).
- Candidates with at least 1 year of experience in a clinical or home care setting are preferred.
