Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients are clean, comfortable, and free from infection risks through proper hygiene practices.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status changes and needs to RNs and LPNs in a timely manner.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and care plans as required by facility standards.
- Assistance: Support patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent falls and ensure safety.
- Meal Support: Monitor and assist patients with eating and drinking, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Must possess a current, unencumbered State of Tennessee CNA license.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of direct patient care experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical assistance as needed.
- Compassion: Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help patients.
- Background: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
