Responsibilities
- Monitor patient health status, including vital signs and pain levels, and report changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and advocacy for patients and their families.
- Document patient care activities, intake information, and observations accurately in electronic medical records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment to prevent infection and ensure patient comfort.
- Move patients safely using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, physicians, and families regarding patient care plans.
Qualifications
- Current and active Indiana State CNA license required.
- CPR/BLS certification (Basic Life Support) valid and up-to-date.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient safety and care standards.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
