Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and registered nurses with medical procedures, patient transfers, and positioning to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to update them on patient conditions and needs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient charts in accordance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California required.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred but not always required for exceptional candidates.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, and stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks as needed.
