Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Monitoring: Accurately monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely transfer and move patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.
- Meal Assistance: Support patients during meal times, ensuring they are eating well-hydrated and receiving proper nutrition.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient care records and logs using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, providing compassionate communication and updates.
- Hygiene & Environment: Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, active Texas CNA License required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of basic nursing procedures, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks associated with patient care.
- Soft Skills: Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
