Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor Health Status: Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing supervisor.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely in and out of bed, wheelchairs, and walkers to prevent falls and ensure comfort.
- Document Care: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including care plans, incident reports, and daily progress notes.
- Administer Medications: Assist with medication management under the supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring all protocols are followed.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Illinois.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of basic nursing procedures and medical terminology.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care with a positive attitude.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods; ability to lift patients weighing up to 200 lbs.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
