Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist nurses and physicians with medical procedures, patient transfers, and mobility support.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers and document all care accurately.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and requests for assistance, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide updates on patient conditions.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized patient environment following infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required by the state of Missouri.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help patients and families.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
