Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance to patients of all ages.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, providing transfer assistance and wheelchair support as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments according to strict physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment to prevent infection and ensure patient comfort.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Document patient care activities, input, and output accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the state of Tennessee required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Arrhythmia Certification preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact empathetically with patients and families.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs with assistance when necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic charting systems.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is a plus.
