What You Will Do:
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding according to dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment at all times.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in medical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Prepare and serve meals, ensuring special dietary needs are met.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a sanitary patient room.
- Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Support patient mobility and assist with transfers using proper body mechanics.
- Respond to patient call lights and requests for assistance promptly.
Qualifications
- Current, active CNA Certification and license in the state of Texas.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy.
