Responsibilities
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, according to facility protocols.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and respect.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, listening to their needs and concerns.
- Perform range-of-motion exercises and assist with mobility to prevent complications such as bedsores.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to infection control standards.
- Communicate any changes in a patient's condition to the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing immediately.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Physical stamina to lift, bend, and assist patients as required by the job description.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during night shifts.
- Professional demeanor and a commitment to patient safety and privacy.
