Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, during the night shift.
- Monitor patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report any abnormalities to the Charge Nurse.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring from bed to wheelchair or ambulating within the facility.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and under the supervision of the RN.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies to ensure a safe environment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient room environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active in the state of Louisiana.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
