Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and document vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate, accurately and timely.
- Assist with medication administration and treatments as directed by the supervising nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment to prevent accidents and infections.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
- Respond immediately to patient call lights and emergent situations during the night shift.
- Support patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the state of Virginia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in long-term care or hospital settings is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure during night shifts.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed.
