Position Overview:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. This role is critical in ensuring our patients' comfort, safety, and overall well-being in a home health or clinic setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transfers and ambulation using proper techniques.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the nurse and physician.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Current and valid State CNA Certification (Texas).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience as a CNA or Nursing Assistant is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check.
