Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), bathing, dressing, and mobility support.
- Vital Signs: Accurately monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Communication: Communicate changes in patient condition to registered nurses and physicians promptly and effectively.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient charts as required by hospital policy.
- Emergency Response: Respond to patient emergencies and assist in basic life support (BLS) situations when necessary.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred; weekend availability is mandatory.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 200 lbs. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
