Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance, to ensure patient comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and report any significant changes to the Registered Nurse.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent falls and pressure sores.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician under the supervision of the nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) for all care provided.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care.
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient needs to maintain a high standard of patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current licensure in the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients and families.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record systems.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are recommended.
