Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance, to ensure patient comfort and hygiene.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and report any significant changes to the Registered Nurse.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent falls and pressure sores.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician under the supervision of the nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) for all care provided.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care.
  • Respond promptly to call lights and patient needs to maintain a high standard of patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current licensure in the District of Columbia.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients and families.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients up to 50 lbs as needed.
