Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by the RN or LPN under supervision.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Document patient progress, behavior, and care provided in electronic health records (EHR) promptly.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Current and active New York State CNA license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
