Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance (ADLs).
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Assist in moving, lifting, and positioning patients to ensure safety and comfort.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing staff and charge nurse immediately.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Support patients and families with emotional needs and patient education.
- Adhere to all healthcare safety protocols and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current Texas State CNA or STNA Certification (or equivalent) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
