Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to strict protocols and state regulations under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to infection control and safety standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to update care plans and address concerns promptly.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, helping to alleviate anxiety and improve overall well-being.
- Document all care provided in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and legibly.
Qualifications
- Current State Certification: Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Colorado.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting preferred.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and patience when working with elderly or medically complex patients.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
