Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Communicate changes in resident condition or mood to the charge nurse immediately.
- Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents and staff.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or assisted living setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Compassionate demeanor and a commitment to patient dignity and respect.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting/transferring patients.
