Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and hygiene.
- Mobility Support: Help clients move safely around their home, including transferring from bed to chair and walking with assistance.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medications at scheduled times and report any missed doses or side effects to the supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals that meet the client's dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and light activities to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light cleaning tasks, such as laundry and dishwashing.
- Critical Monitoring: Observe client behavior and report any changes in physical or mental health conditions to the family or nursing staff immediately.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a CNA, PCA, or Home Health Aide is preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.
- Certification: Current state certification (CNA/PCA) and a valid driver's license are highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to listen actively to clients and their families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend frequently throughout the day to assist clients.
- Compassion: A genuine passion for helping others and a patient, caring demeanor.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, trustworthy, and capable of maintaining confidentiality.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
