Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, crowns, and orthodontics
- Perform chairside duties including instrument transfer, suction management, and patient comfort
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging systems
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilize instruments according to OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for patient procedures
- Document patient care notes and maintain accurate digital records
- Provide post-procedure instructions and patient education on oral hygiene
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant program graduate or equivalent certification
- Current California Dental Assistant license (RDA preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification and X-ray safety permit
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with dental software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and infection control compliance
