Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside functions including instrument transfer, suction management, and oral evacuation
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs while adhering to ALARA protocols
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilize all dental instruments and equipment
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and digital documentation systems
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide oxide monitoring when certified
- Train new assistants on practice-specific protocols and technologies
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification with current renewal
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
- Exceptional patient communication and chairside manner
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environment
