Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument preparation, suctioning, and patient positioning
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with digital imaging technology
- Perform infection control protocols including sterilization and equipment maintenance
- Manage patient scheduling, records, and inventory of dental supplies
- Deliver chairside assistance during restorative and orthodontic procedures
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education
- Oversee front desk operations including check-in/out and insurance processing
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or NY State Dental Assistant License required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general dental practice
- Proficiency in dental radiography and digital imaging systems
- Strong knowledge of infection control and OSHA standards
- Excellent chairside assistance and patient communication skills
- Experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix practice management software
- CPR certification and BLS certification required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
