Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle digital charting systems
- Administer anesthesia monitoring and emergency response protocols
- Provide chairside assistance with dental materials and equipment operation
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or RDA license required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (Dexis, Schick) and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- CPR/BLS certification current or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume practice
