Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument handling, suction, and patient monitoring
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain inventory of dental supplies
- Take dental impressions and develop X-rays following safety protocols
- Manage patient scheduling, confirm appointments, and handle insurance documentation
- Provide post-procedure instructions and ensure patient comfort throughout visits
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
- Train new staff on clinic protocols and software systems
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license (Texas state)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a dental practice
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Strong communication skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
