Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory facilities following HIPAA protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using electronic health record systems
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of phlebotomy equipment
- Provide exceptional patient care during high-volume testing scenarios
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient flow and testing efficiency
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection control procedures
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced environment
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings and weekends
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (EPIC, Cerner preferred)
