Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including oral surgery, restorations, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments while maintaining strict OSHA compliance
- Take accurate dental impressions and process digital radiographs
- Manage patient flow, scheduling, and recall systems
- Perform chairside assistance with expanded functions (sealants, coronal polishing)
- Train new assistants on clinic protocols and equipment
- Maintain detailed patient records and inventory management
Qualifications
- Active Maryland Dental Assistant certification (DANB or equivalent)
- 2+ years clinical experience in general dentistry
- CPR/BLS certification (current)
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft practice management software
- Excellent chairside manner and patient communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
- Expanded functions permit preferred
- Background check and drug screen required
