Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including oral surgery and restorative treatments
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following OSHA protocols
- Take and develop accurate dental X-rays using digital radiography systems
- Manage patient records and maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation
- Provide chairside support and patient education on oral hygiene
- Oversee inventory management and supply ordering for clinical operations
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure efficient clinic scheduling
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or Oregon Board approved)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- CPR certification (current or obtainable within 30 days)
