Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization processes
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials efficiently
- Document patient care accurately using digital charting systems
- Provide chairside assistance with optimal operator ergonomics
- Deliver patient education on oral hygiene procedures
- Coordinate seamless workflow between hygiene and clinical departments
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant program certification or equivalent experience
- Active DANB or Virginia dental assistant license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency in digital radiography (DEXIS/RVG preferred)
- Experience with Eaglesoft or dental practice management software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Exceptional communication and patient rapport skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced clinical environments
