Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory while maintaining chain of custody protocols
- Verify patient identification and prepare specimens for testing using HIPAA-compliant systems
- Maintain sterile equipment and calibrated collection devices per OSHA standards
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure efficient patient flow and specimen integrity
Qualifications
- Current Hawaii Phlebotomy Technician certification (HTC or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year acute care or outpatient phlebotomy experience
- CPR/BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Proficiency with LIS/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Valid Hawaii driver's license and reliable transportation
