Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures, including instrument handling and suction control
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision
- Manage sterilization protocols and infection control procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure optimal dental equipment functionality
- Perform patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Manage patient scheduling and maintain accurate dental records
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DAEFDA or DANB)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital radiography (X-ray) and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification and current immunization records
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to calm anxious patients
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to OSHA/HIPAA standards
- Valid Washington State dental assistant permit
