Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials while maintaining strict sterilization protocols
- Take and develop diagnostic dental X-rays with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, and digital charting using Dentrix software
- Deliver post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene techniques
- Order inventory, manage supply chains, and ensure optimal clinic operations
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold strict confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Current Indiana Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and dental software (Eaglesoft/Dentrix preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Strong organizational abilities with multitasking expertise
- Knowledge of OSHA and dental board regulations
- Associate's degree in Dental Assisting or equivalent technical training
