Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative and surgical treatments
- Take and develop diagnostic dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Perform infection control protocols and sterilize instruments
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain optimal inventory levels
- Administer patient comfort measures and post-operative care
- Manage digital patient records and scheduling systems
- Train new assistants on clinic protocols and technologies
Qualifications
- Accredited dental assisting program certification (CODA)
- Current DANB certification or willingness to obtain immediately
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft/Dentrix practice management software
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Valid North Carolina Dental Assistant permit
- Up-to-date CPR/BLS certification
