Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside functions including instrument transfer, suction management, and patient monitoring
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral photos
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization of instruments/equipment
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure optimal inventory levels for seamless workflow
- Deliver exceptional patient education on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Maintain digital patient records using Eaglesoft practice management software
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and intraoral imaging systems
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and dental sterilization protocols
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Arizona State Dental Assistant radiography permit
