Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treatments and procedures, including sterilizing instruments and setting up operatory equipment
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with digital imaging technology
- Manage patient records, update charts, and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Perform infection control protocols and maintain sterile clinical environments
- Coordinate patient scheduling and follow-up communications
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of dental supplies
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general or specialty dental practice
- Proficiency in dental radiography and digital imaging systems
- Strong knowledge of infection control standards (OSHA/CDC guidelines)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to create patient rapport
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Experience with Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software
- High school diploma or equivalent required
