Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Perform dental radiography (X-rays) and ensure proper imaging protocols
- Manage sterilization and infection control protocols exceeding OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for efficient patient flow
- Take accurate dental impressions and fabricate temporary crowns/prosthetics
- Educate patients on post-procedure care and oral hygiene techniques
- Maintain digital patient records and assist with practice management software
- Coordinate patient scheduling and ensure seamless clinic operations
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana Dental Assistant certification (DANB or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software (Dentrix Eaglesoft preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification maintained through the American Heart Association
- Strong knowledge of infection control and OSHA compliance
- Excellent chairside manner with ability to calm anxious patients
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
