Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument preparation, suctioning, and patient positioning
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with digital imaging systems
- Perform infection control protocols and sterilize equipment following OSHA guidelines
- Manage patient records using Dentrix/Epic software and schedule appointments
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and instruments for dental procedures
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Assist with inventory management and ordering dental supplies
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license in Colorado
- Minimum 2 years of clinical dental assisting experience
- Proficiency in digital radiography and dental practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting program preferred
