Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient records and digital charting systems accurately
- Provide chairside support including suction, material preparation, and instrument transfer
- Deliver post-procedure instructions and follow-up care guidance
- Coordinate scheduling and inventory management for optimal workflow
Qualifications
- Current New Mexico Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (X-ray) and practice management software
- CPR certification and knowledge of OSHA/HIPAA compliance
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently
- Commitment to continuing education in dental technologies
