Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the lead dentist and hygienist during examinations, treatments, and procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Patient Care: Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative instructions, and preventative care to ensure their comfort and understanding.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to OSHA and CDC guidelines to maintain a sterile environment and ensure patient safety.
- Radiography: Perform digital dental radiography (X-rays) and develop images for diagnostic purposes.
- Office Management: Manage patient records, handle insurance inquiries, and process payments accurately.
- Inventory: Monitor and order dental supplies and equipment as needed.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Illinois Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) license required.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in 4-handed dentistry, taking impressions, and using intraoral cameras.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Technology: Ability to learn and adapt to new dental software and electronic health records systems.
