Responsibilities
- Greet and Welcome: Provide a warm, professional greeting to all patients and visitors upon arrival, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
- Front Desk Management: Manage incoming calls, answer inquiries, and direct messages to the appropriate departments efficiently.
- Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments using our EMR system, send reminders, and manage cancellations to optimize clinic flow.
- Administrative Support: Verify patient insurance information, handle billing inquiries, and process payments accurately at the front desk.
- Record Management: Maintain and update patient medical records, ensuring all information is accurate, confidential, and HIPAA-compliant.
- Coordination: Collaborate with nurses and doctors to ensure smooth patient transitions between check-in and consultation areas.
- Inventory: Monitor and restock front desk supplies and waiting area materials to maintain a professional appearance.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Medical Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
