Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials according to strict sterilization protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and perform other diagnostic duties as directed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment histories.
- Greet patients, answer phones, and manage front desk reception duties as needed.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Order and inventory dental supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent certification.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Experience with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Louisiana Dental Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain).
