Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments for procedures according to established protocols.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure proper sterilization of all equipment and linens.
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient conditions during surgical procedures.
- Properly handle and label surgical specimens for pathology analysis.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, anesthesiologists, and physicians.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital and surgical safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Surgical First Assistant (SFA) certification required.
- Current state of Nebraska Surgical Technologist license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient movement.
