Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including exams, fillings, extractions, and restorative treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms following OSHA protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient records using digital software like Dentrix Eaglesoft
- Provide chairside assistance including suction, instrument transfer, and material preparation
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices
- Coordinate treatment schedules and maintain efficient clinic workflow
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (RDA or equivalent) from accredited program
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and infection control procedures
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and instruments
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Valid California X-ray license (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
