Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to ensure strict infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and maintaining accurate charts.
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-care.
- Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or licensure in Louisiana (RADT, DANB, or equivalent).
- CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform fine motor tasks accurately.
